Shipping

When pictures of your army are sent to you for approval, a final total will also be e-mailed to you. This total will cover the remaining 50% of the labor, any conversion costs, and the shipping and handling cost.

For orders up to $250, a flat $15 shipping fee will apply. For orders over $250, a flat $20 shipping fee will apply. These charges apply to all clients within the continental US and Canada.

All packages are shipped via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation.

Clients outside of the continental US and Canada will pay a $15 surcharge for shipping and handling.

Insurance is optional and is $1 per $100 of the insured value for domestic clients. Note that USPS only insures the cost of materials plus minimum wage for any value-added labor (i.e. painting). Clients outside of the continental US pay actual insurance costs - contact me for details.

Liability

We cover the value of your models while they are in our care. Once we hand your army over to the shipper, it's out of our jurisdiction. We will be glad to insure projects if this is requested in the Notes section of the final payment.

BK Army Painting Studio is not responsible for what happens to the models after you get them. You assume all risk of owning and handling the models. You agree to hold BK Army Painting Studio harmless. By using our service, you are agreeing to these terms.

Packaging Details

Our goal is that your army should arrive in a timely fashion without breakage.

  • Default shipper is USPS Priority Mail.
  • Address labels should be completely covered with a protective layer of tape.
  • Models should not touch each other at any time during transit.
  • Large, fragile, or unusual models are mummified in tissue and packing peanuts
  • Regular infantry models will be rolled in bubble wrap, and gaps in the roll will be sealed with tape.
  • Unusual models will be individually bubble wrapped and taped shut.
  • Large and breakable models will be lightly wrapped in bubble wrap, taped, surrounded by peanuts, and possibly packaged in their own individual box(es). The smaller box will be placed in the main box for shipment.
  • All open edges will be completely sealed with packing tape.

BK Army Painting Services cannot accept liability for goods damaged in transit. If your package is abused in transit, you will have to take up that issue with the shipper.

However, if you send damaged model(s) back to us, we will almost always repair, touchup, and ship it back to you at no charge. (Gross negligence, at our discretion will disqualify this service. If you somehow manage to run your models over with your car, we probably won’t be able to help).

Extra parts from kits that we buy on behalf of a client are not returned except on request. This allows us to keep the cost of conversions down-- clients that leave their bitz with us benefit other clients and vice versa.
