Pricing Guidelines
So how much will it cost to commission an army from BK Army Painting Services? To get a full quote customized to your project, all you need to do is ask, but here's some information to give you a rough estimate of what our various services cost.
Materials:
- Models that we purchase are usually 20% off MSRP. There are exceptions for rare or unique items that can only be acquired from limited sources - for example, ForgeWorld and Direct-Order Only models are not discounted.
- In addition, limited-source items may have a small surcharge to cover shipping or other administrative charges.
- NOTE: Limited-source items may delay your order.
Cleaning/Assembly
Cleaning/assembly charges vary depending on the size and/or complexity of the model. In general:
- Regular infantry (on 20-25mm bases) will cost $1.00 to $1.50 per figure.
- Large/oversize infantry (on 30-40mm bases) will cost $2.00 to $3.00 per figure. Cavalry will also usually fall into this category, although they may fall into the next category.
- Small vehicles/creatures (on 50-60mm bases) will cost $4.00 to $6.00 per figure.
- Medium vehicles/giants will cost $8.00 to $12.00 per figure.
- Large vehicles/monstrosities will cost $16.00 to $24.00 per figure.
- Extra-large vehicles/monstrosities will cost $32.00 to $48.00 per figure.
Conversions
It's impossible for me to give any kind of useful pricing information on conversions, since the term can cover everything from simple weapon swaps and magnetizing to incredibly complex resculpts. If you've got a particular conversion in mind, please ask me about it.
Painting
Painting charges vary depending on the size and/or complexity of the model, and also on the level of detailing requested by the client. All prices below are per model.

- Basic basing is included with every figure. Extra details cost $.50 per base. (Click here to see the basing guide).
- Custom-built movement trays are available for those armies that require it, at $15/per movement tray. Movement trays will be painted to match the basing of the army.
- NOTE: We are an army painting service, specializing in whole armies. For really small orders (10 models or less), we charge a small surcharge of $20.
Many people want to “test” a painting service by doing a single squad before purchasing a whole painted army. For that reason, if you do a small order, you will also receive a credit for $20 from a future order, as long as that order is for at least 20 models.
Shipping
- Continental US/Canada clients will pay a flat $15 shipping for orders up to $250, and a flat $20 shipping charge for orders over $250.
- Clients outside the continental US/Canada will pay a $15 surcharge.
- Insurance is available for domestic customers at $1 per $100 of value.
- Insurance is available for international customers at the actual rate by destination.
